Due to the close proximity of the railway, we liaised with a Network Rail representative who attended/monitored the site during the execution of the demolition. An Asbestos Survey confirmed the presence of ACM’s. As a fully licensed Asbestos Contractor this did not pose a problem and our trained operatives carried out its safe removal prior to demolition All roof slates were removed prior to demolition for recycling.
Due to one particular building being identified as high risk, a traffic management plan was implemented creating diversions of the adjacent roads. Long reach hydraulic excavators were utilised to demolish the high areas using the top down method. Dust suppression techniques were implemented and banksman were present throughout the operation. All concrete ground floor slabs were completely broken out and removed with suitable materials being crushed and stockpiled for future use.
The site was left level and tidy ready for the redevelopment
